Obituary of Joseph Petrus Herygers

It is with broken hearts that the family of Joseph Herygers announces his peaceful passing at the age of 83. Predeceased by his loving wife Marie Herygers (2007). Cherished father of David (Tammy) Herygers. Beloved grandfather of Adam and Anthony. Survived by his siblings Peter (Marjorie Langlois) Herygers of Ontario, Mary Geerts of Ontario, Catherine Couture of Quebec, Johanna Young of Nova Scotia, Ann (Ed) Olscamp of Nova Scotia, sister-in-law Lorraine Herygers of New Brunswick, Jack (Lise) Herygers of New Brunswick, Theo Herygers of New Brunswick, Corrie (John) Locke of Newfoundland, Elsa (John) Toplis of Nova Scotia, Rosa Herygers of Quebec and Selma Hebb of Nova Scotia. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Maria Herygers, Sister Adriana and brother-in-law Corneilius Van Massenhoven, brothers Louis Herygers and Bill Herygers, sister Diana and brother in law Kevin Poole, brother-in-law Gerard Geerts, brother-in-law Jacques Couture, brother-in-law Brian Young, brother-in-law Andrew Baker and brother-in-law Richard Dufresne. Cherished and remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and extended family. 

Joseph worked as a carpenter for many years in the London area. He had the opportunity to work as a carpenter as part of the civilian engineering department, at Canadian Forces Base London for 21 years before his retirement. Joseph enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors with his family. Joseph believed in God, and family. He was a quiet but devoted man. 

Visitation will be held on Monday December 27th from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at DENNING'S OF STRATHROY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday December 28th at All Saints Roman Catholic Church at 10:00am. Registration is required.
