Obituary of Bonnie Sue Kingma

Bonnie Kingma Obituary

Bonnie passed suddenly in her home in London, Ontario at the age of 58 on December 20, 2021 with her husband by her side. Bonnie Sue Kingma was born December 4, 1963 in Annapolis Hospital in Wayne, Michigan as Bonnie Sue Lamb, the proud daughter of the late James and Elsie Lamb. Loving wife of John Eduard Kingma, mother of Kristine Kingma (Hubert) and Johnny Kingma (Jacy), Sister of Deb Wright (Wally) and Janet Brown (Dale). Bonnie loved her family dogs Misty, Hannah and their new puppy Bella.

Growing up Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her extended family at her Grandpa Brown’s farm off Nairn Road near Ailsa Craig. Bonnie attended Wayne Memorial high school achieving many awards on her way to graduating with honours, and graduating cosmetology school in 1982. Bonnie grew up an athlete competing in Baseball and Tennis.

Bonnie met John in Toronto where he resided before the two started regularly travelling to be together. Bonnie moved from a job as a cosmetologist to an airline reservationist at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. This was convenient as Bonnie would frequently fly from Metro Airport to Pearson airport to visit John in Toronto. The two married August 16, 1986 before having two beautiful children together, Kristine born September 23, 1988 and Johnny born July 12, 1991.

After having children Bonnie became a dedicated full-time mother. Bonnie encouraged her children to be diligent students and provided extra lessons at home. Kristine and Johnny were enrolled in many extracurricular activities including swimming lessons, basketball, baseball, soccer, Sunday school and hockey. Bonnie attended nearly every activity and was their biggest supporter. Johnny played for the same hockey team LMHA Thunder for many years and Bonnie was by far the most passionate fan.

After Bonnie’s children graduated high school and were older Bonnie went back to school to become a Personal support Worker and received her certificate from GA Wheable. Bonnie took on the role of caring for her parents James Lamb (August 22, 1929 - June 28, 2009) and Elsie Lamb (December 28, 1929 – March 6, 2021) in their final years with the help of her sisters Deb and Janet. Bonnie exemplified compassion and would always listen attentively to her loved ones. Bonnie will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to get to know her.

A Private funeral service will take place at DENNING’S OF AILSA CRAIG followed by an interment at Nairn Cemetery in Ailsa Craig, Ontario.
