Obituary of Jean Empey

Jean (Elizabeth) Empey (Nee Potts)

After a brief illness, Jean Empey passed away peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General hospital. 

She is survived by her husband and childhood sweetheart Cecil Empey.  Jean is also survived by her beloved son, Douglas Gable.  She is predeceased by her cherished son “Billy” (Harry) Gable.  Fondly remembered by her three grandchildren, Melissa Gable-Denman, Douglas Gable Jr. and Michelle Gable and her great grandchildren Riley and Logan Denman.  Jean will be remembered by several siblings.  She will missed by her numerous nieces and nephews, including Llyod Empey. 

Jean enjoyed dancing to the bird dance with her grandchildren, attending country music concerts with her husband, going to the drive in and lovingly knitting uncomfortable socks for her loved ones. 

As per Jean’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral.  Cremation has taken place.  Online condolences can be expressed at www.simplicity-cremation.ca.  Arrangements entrusted to Simplicity Cremations ~ St. Thomas.
