Obituary of Horacio de Sousa Duarte
Peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Tuesday, August 17, 2021; Horacio Duarte passed away, surrounded by his family, at the age of 83. Loving husband of Maria do Carmo “Carminha” Duarte (née Pontes Correia). Proud father of Luis and Nancy Duarte, João Duarte, Maria Jose Glover and Jim Arnel and Rui and Wendy Duarte. Cherished and devoted Avô of Abby, Emma and Fraser Duarte; Megan (Tiago) Arruda and Aaron Glover; Jacob and Jazzlynn Duarte, Kurtis and Kaleb Ellul. Adored great grandfather of Zaiden Duarte. Survived by his brother Luciano (Teodora) Duarte. Horacio will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Teodoro and Alexandrina Duarte, stepmother Adelaide Duarte, his sister Maria Jose Duarte, and his father and mother-in-law Manuel and Maria da Conceiçao Correia.
The family would like to thank the staff at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, Dr. Gomes, Dr. Soliman and Dr. Furtado for the incredible care shown to Horacio during his stay there.
Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Roman Catholic Parish, Strathroy; on Thursday, August 19th, 2021 at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Auxiliary or All Saints Roman Catholic Church would be appreciated.
