Obituary of Murray Wesley Ragin

A life well lived. 

Murray Wesley Ragin passed peacefully in his 95th year with family by his side, on Monday, July 26th, 2021. Murray was born to Alexander and Sarah Elizabeth (Green) Ragin in MacGillivray Township. He served as an electrician on the London Fire Department for 34 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Ionic 716 and enjoyed actively serving his community as a Shriner and in his later years, with the Royal Canadian Legion in Goderich.

Murray is predeceased by his loving wife June (Macrow) Ragin, son Gerry Ragin, and siblings Ruth (Charlie) Garrod, Florence (Levi) White, and Hazel (Bill) Crowe.

He will be deeply missed by his family; daughter Judy Ragin, daughter-in-law Astrid Ragin (Bud Bennett), grandchildren Rebecca (Tom) Baynton, Kelly (Joe) Bystryk, Brandy (Kendall) Cvejich, and Chelsea (Andrew) Henry. He was a loved and adored G, by great-grandchildren Ben, Simon, York, Avalon, Knox, Juliana, Wilson, Cordelia & Violet.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Murray’s Bluewater Beach family for their kindness and care.

Warmest thanks to Dr. Armstrong, and to the palliative care unit staff at Alexandra Marine & General Hospital in Goderich.

Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF AILSA CRAIG on Wednesday, July 28th, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at DENNING’S OF AILSA CRAIG on Thursday, July 29th, 2021 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the charity of your choice in Murray’s name.
