My deepest condolences to the Joers family. I only found out about Whitney's passing, yesterday, and I must say, I was deeply saddened. I took Whitney under my wing, at our self-defence school where I was a sparring instructor, when he was just a young fellow. When he became a black belt, he came over to work out with me at another location (Western Counties over at Commissioners and Wellington) in London. Here is a cute story for the family: Whitney and I were teaching a Karate class in one of the old buildings, where the pool was located... we were in the gym. We heard banging coming from the attic. We called the person we rented from and they told us NOT to go up into the attic, ourselves, that we were to follow procedure... and that they would send out security to take care of things. Well, when security go there, they were two young women, about 110 lbs each, if that. They were both nervous about going up. Whitney and I felt silly, standing there in our Karate suits and black belts, white these two young ladies said they didn't get paid enough to climb the ladder and check out, who was up there. We told them we would follow them up. They agreed to that. Turns out, there had been someone there, but they had fled the area sometime earlier, but had left the wooden shutters open and they were banging in the wind, and that was the noise we were hearing. Hope this adds to your own memories of your husband and father.

To Linda and family
It was with great sadness that today I learned of the passing of my childhood friend Whitney.
We had gone to school together for several years when I was young.
Somewhere in that, changing schools and moving, life happened and I lost contact and track of my friend.
I have very fond memories of all the times we spent together, with lots of laughter.
I feel privileged to have known him, and am grateful to have a photo of him, and being able to see the tribute video.
From his video and photos, he hadn't changed a bit from the time I knew him.
I just wish I could have talked to him one last time. Life is like that, live it with all your might.

I and others who worked closely with Whitney are deeply saddened at the news of our colleague. He was a fine man who had deep family values. He was also a diligent and smart individual who made things happen in the plant.

My condolences to Linda, Aiden and Evan on the passing of your husband and father.
I will always remember my brother with fond memories from when we lived on Piccadilly Street and the fun times we had building snow forts in the back yard with dad the family camping trips in the old green and white converted camper and pop up trailer. The family trip to Florida to Disney World. The summers spent down at Dingman creek fishing and attempting to build rafts that never stayed afloat very long. Your baby raccoon Trouble that would sit on your shoulder as you rode your bike into Lambeth where you won for most unusual pet in the Annual Harvest festival. These are the memories I will take comfort in. I hope you found peace in your life and hope you are at peace now.

Whitney was a great colleague and we were all shocked to learn the unbelievable news!
A few things defined Whitney: he was a great family man; there wasn't a day to go by without hearing how much he loved his wife and children, and oh, he was so proud of his boys. Whitney always had great stories about his boys!
Whitney loved God and through his daily behaviour and words he always expressed his love for God!
He will always be in our prayers and will be greatly missed at Formet!
