Obituary of Kurtis James Berg

Kurtis James Berg October 19, 1996 - July 21, 2020 Kurtis James Berg, 23 years old, had recently moved to Strathroy from Barrie, Ontario. On June 24th he came home after a long day at work with severe headaches and felt like he had a form of heat stroke. He complained about being dizzy and confused. After supper that day he went for a walk to shake it off, but did not return. His body was found deceased several weeks later several kilometers from where he left for his walk. Results are now leading toward Kurtis collapsing from an effect of heat stroke while on his walk that evening. Kurtis will be deeply missed by his parents, Rod and Caroline Berg as well as his two brothers Trevor and Eric. He will be missed by his grandparents Andrew and Marg Berg. He will also be missed by his aunts and uncles, Ann and Piet VanBeers, Jane and Casey Bydevaate, Toni and Peter Rozendaal, Margie Bos-Krebs and Doug, Peter and Connie Bos, Alice and Henry Nyman, Helene and John Moore, Arjan and Lora Bos, Darrin and Shelley Berg. He will be missed by many cousins and friends. Kurtis was predeceased by his grandparents Pieter and Cornelia Bos, his grandmother Jennie Berg, his uncle Cornelius Bos, his cousins, Joel Bydevaate, Sam Bos (who was a close cousin who he shared lots of laughs with as they were only a month apart) and Lauren Berg. Kurtis attended both King Christian School and Unity Christian High School in the Barrie area. He then went on to obtain a Graphic Design degree from Georgian College and started a successful career with Post Media that included designing and organizing ads and classifieds for newspapers like Toronto Star and the Toronto Sun. His talent and skill were moving him in a promising direction. Kurtis was a very creative person, a talented musician (played lead guitar for bands and in youth worship) and had a keen sense of humor. A private family service will be held at Westmount Christian Reformed Church. Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.
