Obituary of Bev Mackey

After a hard fought courageous battle, Bev passed away peacefully at L.H.S.C-University Hospital on April 20th. Honouring his memory is the love of his life and best friend, his wife Lois. His daughter Anne (Tim) and son Scott (Angie) are privileged to call him Dad. Grandchildren Kent and Brett Hanna, and Cameron, Lauryn and Isaac Mackey adore their Grandpa. Dear brother of his sisters Karen (Larry) and Trudy. Remembering him are his brother and sisters in-law Bruce and Barb Fonger and Mary Fonger. Bev’s nieces and nephews will miss him. Bev loved sports. If he wasn’t playing or coaching, he was a fan. The Toronto Maple Leafs is his team, even though he was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks. Bev worked 45 ½ years with Superior Propane, where his customers weren’t just customers to Bev, he considered them friends. Thank-you to the caring First Responders (Strathroy), Front Line ER and ICU nurses at SMGH. Special thanks to Doctors Perkin and Sanders. To the compassionate nurses and doctors in the ICU at University Hospital, you are his second family. All of you are heroes. A heartfelt thank-you to Pastor Allan Self, our relatives and many friends for your kind words and prayers. Bev will be forever missed at home but will enjoy reminiscing with his extended family and friends. Enjoy your diet Pepsi! During this time, when family and friends can’t be together, we’ll be together at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Denning's of Strathroy (519) 245-1023. Our family would be so grateful that donations in Bev’s memory be directed to London Health Sciences Foundation COVID – 19 Response Fund. Share a memory at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com.
