Dear Paul, Terry and Family
Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of your mother. Growing up on Linwood Street your Mum was my favorite of all the parents in the neighbourhood. She was always a kind lady that I admired.
I especially admired her artistic ability. My parents had a beautiful oil pastel drawing of a winter scene that your Mum made for my Mum that hung in our living room. When you Mum was making hats, she created a beautiful and realistic flowered hat that Thelma was so proud of until she wore it to church and walking home up Linwood Street got chased by bees! She always bragged that 'Orpah's work is just so realistic it even fooled the bees.'
I remember getting caught soaping your basement windows at Halloween (why would I do that-I think it was a Barber dare) and caught pure hell from my Mum while yours just smiled as I cleaned them off. (Paul, we won't go into gasoline and blown up forts or Bobby Leathorne's missing eyebrows.)
I am glad that you got to have your Mum with you for so long and want to mark her passing with you as you celebrate her life.
