Obituary of James Cessna
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jim Cessna of Strathroy on Sunday, March 28th, 2010, at Craigwiel Gardens, Ailsa Craig, in his 75th year. Cherished husband of Marilyn for over 50 years. Dear father of Dale (Bonnie) Cessna, Sherri (Andrew) Godwin, Darlene (Joseph) Czernai, and Tania (Jeremy) Scherba. Memories of Grampie will always be treasured by his eleven grandchildren April (Jon Ross), Amanda (Alex), Kayla, Darcie, Tanner, Taylor, Harper, Mia, and Austin. Beloved brother of Lorne (Jackie), Vivian (1988), Sherin (Jason), Jaci (2003)(Stephen). Much loved brother-in-law for Celina & Warren; Bob & Mary. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jim was born in Saskatchewan and raised in Hamilton. After starting his family with Marilyn in Hamilton, they relocated to New Brunswick in the early 1970's, moving back to Ontario in the late 1970's to settle in Strathroy. Jim's love for God and the Bible motivated him to be a very active and appreciated member of the Strathroy Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. As a talented sportsman, Jim was an avid golfer. While he taught his children the game and mentored many friends as well, he managed to continue to beat them all until very late in his life. He loved spending time with his family and always enjoyed challenging anyone to a game of cards or Scrabble. Jim was a well-respected local businessman in Strathroy for over 30 years. He will be greatly missed in our lives and leaves many wonderful memories we will always cherish. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 50 Ontario Street, Strathroy. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, the Parkinson's Society of Canada, or the VON of Strathroy.
