Obituary of Betterley L

On Tuesday June 15, 2010 at LHSC University Campus. After a lengthy illness Alvin L. (Al) Betterley of Strathroy and formerley of Mount Brydges and Dorchester in his 77 th year. Beloved husband of the late Jane (Lock) Betterley (2009).Dear father of Al (Deanna) Betterley of Mount Brydges, Judy Abra (Betterley) and Rob Curtis of Glencoe and Edward (Ed) Betterley of Strathroy. Cherished grandfather of Stephen(Jessica), Cecilia, Bradley and Brian Abra, Justin (Crystal )and Jeffrey (Kristina) Betterley as well as 7 great grandchildren. Al is also survived by his brother Russell Betterley of Komoka and sisters in law Jean Pierce and June (Dennis) Boyse. Al was a dedicated Caradoc Twp. Councillor for one term and a founding member of the Mount Brydges Jr D Hockey Club as well a loyal and dedicated Lions Memeber of the Mount Brydges Lions Club for many years and he was a Past District Governor of District A-1. A Lions memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday At 6:30 pm under the direction of the Mount Brydges Lions Club. Visitation will be held at DENNING BROS. FUNERAL, STRATHROY on Friday June 18, 2010 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm where funeral service will be held on Saturday June 19, 2010 at 11:00 am. Rev Robert Hayne officiating. Interment Mount Brydges Cemetery. Donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Al.
