BAXTER, BARBARA ANN

Surrounded by family, Barbara Ann Baxter (nee Guindon) of St. Thomas at the age of 60 years, peacefully passed away on November 07, 2019 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Survived by her loving and caring husband John Baxter of Sudbury since 1999 and her forever mate for over 32 years.  Predeceased by her mother Bibbyanna Guindon (1992) and survived by her father Theophile Guindon of London.  Beloved sister of Mary Anne Larose (husband Larry 2012) of Sudbury, Judy Samarian (husband Gene) of Sudbury, Theophile Guindon (spouse Dawn McCoshen) of Sudbury, Delores Guindon (spouse Russell Hardy) of Harrietsvile, and the late William Oleksiuk (1972).  Predeceased by Mother-in-Law Ida Baxter (2000) of Sudbury, Father-in-Law Donald Baxter (1977) of Sudbury.  Lovingly remembered by several Sisters-in-Law and Brothers-in-Law and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Sadly, missed by her loyal fur baby “Lady”.

Barb was raised in Sudbury and St. Thomas, and later attended Cambrian Collage in Sudbury where she met the love of her life, John Baxter.  They would later marry and start their life together in St. Thomas where she last worked for The Pic Group inspecting automotive parts for quality.  Although Barb never had any children, she loved caring for them as if they were her own and children adored being around her.  Barb was a loving caring person who will be dearly missed.  she was tiny in body but big at heart.

Keeping with Barb’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will take place at St. Anne’s Centre, 20 Morrison Drive, St. Thomas, Ontario N5R 4S6, on Sunday, November 24, 2019, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.   Barb’s remains will be placed with her mother at the Civic Memorial Cemetery in Sudbury, Ontario, as her final resting place.

A special thank you to the caring staff at VON Community Support Services and nursing staff in the Chemotherapy Department at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital for their kind-hearted support.
