Sherrill and the kids,
At this time of sadness and loss I wish I was able to be there with Sharon and the rest of the family to honor the great man that Garry was and the awesome life he lived. From the time I met Sharon, Garry made me feel welcome and part of the family. I know that the recent years were tough on him but his steady ways and his fortitude were truly inspirational. I will miss him but will for ever remember his kind and gentle ways. To this day Sharon and I still remember how special it was that he sang both at our initial wedding as well as at our 25th anniversary when we rededicated our vows in St Lucia and had the joy of sharing that special time with all of the sibs. Thank you for the gift of your music and your friendship. Farewell my friend until we meet again.

Cathie and I were so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. He truly was a source of light and life in this world. I remember him singing at Sue and Bill's wedding, drawing our 2 year old daughter Rebecca to the pulpit at the front to listen and observe more closely. I also remember him singing at my mother's funeral...I am sure she, Dad and the angels were listening from heaven. I know that you and your family will miss him dearly as will all his extended family. Cathie and I will keep you in our thoughts and, if there is anything we can do, please reach out.

Sherrill is my first cousin every time my father and mother and my self went to Chatham we USED THE KIVELLS house as a hotel plus food and entertainment
I am going to miss him a lot his sense of humour laugh and him and my mother fighting
I wished I could sing like that guy he's great I still have his record

What a privilege and honour to get to know this family closely this past year. I’ve known of the Kivell family singers for a very long time. In fact it was their music that played s big part bringing my parents back to church. “Great is Thy Faithfulness” was a favourite of my dad’s. I will be eternally grateful to Gary and his ministry of music. This past year I joined a small group at church and Sherrill was there and in the background was music playing - Gary Kivell singing. I knew it was a sign I was meant to be there. Sherrill and I have since became such amazing friends. Gary knows how loved he was by Sherrill and his family but his legacy lives on in the many, many lives he had touched over his lifetime. God bless you all and surround you with the peace only He can give as you live life without him until you meet again. Deepest love, sympathy and prayers.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Gary, I am a past high school friend of Syndie and Sue. His faith was so strong and it clearly shone through into the lives of his children.
