Obituary of Rena Thompson

Peacefully at home on Friday, June 1, 2012, surrounded by her loved ones, Rena Hazel Thompson (Kenney) of Strathroy, in her 86th year went to be in the arms of the Lord. Predeceased by her much loved husband of 54 years, Earl Thompson (2001) and her daughter Betty Ann Ferreira (2003). She is survived by her loving children: John and Irene Thompson of Ailsa Craig, Mary and Jim Meakes of London, Marilyn and Neil Campbell of Poplar Hill, Judy and Ron Crandon of Glencoe, Larry and Jacquie Thompson, Bill and Cathy Thompson, Gord and Pay Thompson, Karen and Dave Shanks and Joan Thompson all of Strathroy. Leaving behind are her pride and joy of 35 grandchildren and 66 great-grandchildren. Survived by 3 siblings, Doris Kirk, Mary Massa and Joe Kenney. Predeceased by grandson Brandon and great-granddaughter Sabrina, 3 brothers and 1 sister. A very special lady was granted her angel wings today, she was proud of all of her children and the light of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides being a hard worker her entire life, she loved playing cards, reading, going to garage sales and playing bingo. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 3 p.m. until time of Service at 4 p.m. with Rev. Karen Nelles officiating. Cremation to follow. A memorial graveside service will be held at Strathroy Cemetery on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 1 p.m. No flowers please. In memory of Rena, donations may be made to the London Regional Cancer Centre.
