Obituary of Audrey Douey

DOUEY, Audrey A. (nee Hoover) Passed away after a courageous battle with Alzheimers Disease, Friday August 26, 2011 at Fiddick's Nursing Home, Petrolia Ontario. She was born 89 years ago in Brantford , daughter of the late Leslie and Annetta (nee House) Hoover. Beloved wife of the late Derwent Douey to whom she was married for 64 years. Cherished mother of Jim (Brenda), Bryan (Donna), and Nancy (late Glen). Dear grandma of Derek, Lindsay, Brittney, Carolyn, Bryan, Kristina, and Jason. Audrey will be sadly missed by her brother Bob Hoover (Betty), brother-in-law Bob Loube , brother-in-law Bruce Copley, sister-in law Muriel Bradley, and sister-in-law Marian Douey. Audrey was predeceased by her sister Betty Loube, sister Jean Copley, brother-in-law Ken Bradley, brother-in-law Donald Douey, and son-in-law Glen Brodrecht. Also remembered by her nieces and nephews. Audrey formerly resided at RR#5 Forest (Hillcrest Heights). She was a member of Forest Chapter of Eastern Star #116, and a member of Forest United Church where she was a life member of the United Church Women. She loved to sew , knit , garden and walk the beach. She loved life in general : we will miss her dearly. Visitation will occur on Friday September 2, 2011 from 10am - 11am at Forest United Church, 21 James St. North, Forest with a service to follow at 11 am with Rev. David Dyke officiating.
