Obituary of Edward Burns

On Monday, September 3rd, 2007 at Watford Quality Care Centre, Edward Burns Jr. of Watford peacefully passed on in his 88th year. Predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy (Wilson) in 1993 and grandson John Hart in 1994 and by his parents Edward Sr. and Ethel (Prince). Ed was the last of the Edward Burns Sr. family, consisting of Al, Ross, Wayne, Bill and sister Jean. He is survived by his children Larry (Marie) Burns, Linda (Don) Hart, Gord (Nancy) Burns, Wanda (Larry) Lawson, Kim (Mary) Burns and Sue (Will) Wiendels, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Ed was a businessman for 35 years and also served the Watford community as a baseball coach, volunteer Fireman, Watford Council, Odd fellows and the Legion. He was a most enthusiastic card player and fisherman. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at the Harper Funeral Home in Watford on Wednesday, September 5th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held from the Funeral Home on Thursday, September 6th at 11am with Fr. Tom Anderson officiating. Cremation with interment at Watford Cemetery.
