Obituary of Frances Mary Wilson

Frances (Vanderheyden) Wilson April 2, 1956 – January 22, 2024

Mom passed away Monday morning at home with friends and family. Married to Allan Wilson and mom to Scott Wilson (Jessie, AJ and Drew) and Jeff Wilson. Sister to Marg (and Ken), George (and Maria), Helen (and Gerry), Harry (and Corrie), Leo (and Caroline), John (and Toni), Ed (and Norio), and Joanne. Daughter of Tony and Martha Vanderheyden. Sister-in-law to Bob (and Dianne) and Larry (and Cathy). Aunt and friend to more than I can count.

Mom hated being sick, but she was grateful for everyone who stopped in to see her or dropped off food. She didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to everyone that she would have wanted to but was happy about all the fun memories you shared, especially all the laughing.

Mom also hated funerals, so we are not going to have one. But mom did love to party, so we are going to have one of those instead when the weather gets nicer.

Mom’s happiest times were when she was playing sports with her friends and family, being a mom, and later in life spending as much time as possible with her grandkids, AJ and Drew. Mom loved to watch us compete and always pushed us to do our best otherwise we would hear about it in the car after. “Coaching”. Mom was a tough competitor herself, playing golf, broomball, hockey, curling, and baseball though she had fun in the beer tent, win or lose.

Things are going to be a little less fun without her around.
