Obituary of Lorraine Margaret Mauer

Mauer, Lorraine Margaret (nee Way)

Born June 7th, 1948, in Windsor Ontario. Lorraine was the oldest of 6 children born to Frank and Eileen Way.

Cherished mother of Martin (Lara) and David (Suzanne). Proud grandma of Baylee, Danae, Kaitlyn, Max, Piper and Grayson.

Lorraine will be greatly missed by her sisters Janice, Gayle, Virginia and her 2 brothers Brian and Al (Sue). She will be fondly remembered by many cousins, aunts and uncles that Lorraine spoke of endearingly.

Lorraine attended Fanshawe college for a diploma in administration and had her career as a team secretary at Family and Children Services (Children Aid Society) retiring after many years of service.

Lorriane created many lifelong friendships with her co-workers who become like family. Between her work friends and her social circles, she had many friends.

She was easy to make laugh and always loved a good time. Always open for an adventure, Lorraine loved to travel, enjoying many cruises, and travelled to different parts of the world.  She was avid Dragon boater, and she loved to be with her team out on the water. Lorraine could gab for hours as well as providing a listening ear.

Lorraine had a love for animals and enjoyed spending time with her fur babies.

May you travel free and be social to your wonderful hearts content, for all of eternity. We love you and will remember your laugh, your life, and your love forever.

A special thank you to all the staff at Strathmere Lodge for their care and support over the years.

A private family interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery, London. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 10th, 2024 from 1:00-4:00pm at the Vander Velden family home (4248 Glanworth Drive, London, ON).

As an expression sympathy, donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, or the Strathmere Lodge Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and donations may be made at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.
