It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Robert Gros, after a brief
but courageous battle with cancer, on April 27, 2026, at the age of 58.

Beloved husband and best friend of Michelle for 26 years. Rob was a devoted and loving
father to Julia, Ben, and Avery, who were the centre of his world. He also shared an
inseparable bond with his loyal sidekick, Charlie, who rarely left his side.

Rob was the loving son of Ada Gros and the late Robby Gros. Dear brother to Danielle (Neil)
Shinkfield and Patrick (Shawna) Gros. He was the cherished son-in-law of Doris Lambert
and the late Doug Lambert, with whom he shared a close and meaningful relationship. Rob
will also be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Melanie (Les) Toth and Jennifer (Greg)
Dawson, as well as his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who
will deeply miss him.

Rob dedicated his professional life to cardiovascular research at the Robarts Research
Institute and Western University, contributing to life-saving work through the Heart and
Stroke Foundation. He took great pride in his research and its positive impact on countless
lives.

Known as a true "Mr. Fix-It," Rob was always willing to help anyone, whether with a project,
a problem, or a kind word. He loved travelling the world with his wife and children and was
especially proud of his Dutch heritage, often celebrated by wearing his favourite colour,
orange. Above all else, Rob was a devoted family man whose kindness, generosity, and
steady presence will be forever remembered.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Denning's of
Strathroy. A second visitation will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.
until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., also at Denning's of Strathroy.
