Obituary of Peter Brasier
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Brasier on January 2, 2026, at the age of 79.
Peter was the beloved husband of 50 years to Gerda Brasier, whom he met in Holland. Together, they immigrated to Canada in 1975 and built a beautiful life. They were blessed with two daughters: Kim Brasier, and Amy Brasier. Amy sadly passed away in 2024. Peter often joked that he was certain their second child would be a boy—but Amy proved him wrong, giving Peter his second daughter.
Kim married Kevin Fletcher in Barbados, with the entire family present. Kevin became the son Peter never had, and together they gave Peter his first grandchild, Preston Brasier-Fletcher. Amy married Claudio Barberini and had two children, Mateo Brasier and Milana Barberini. Peter was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Aria Brasier.
Peter will be remembered as a man who embraced life’s simple joys and shared them generously with those around him. A lifelong golf enthusiast, he found peace and happiness out on the course, often in the company of friends and family. His unwavering devotion to The Chelsea Football Club was another defining passion—he never missed a match and wore his team colours with pride. Professionally, Peter dedicated many years to working with the Air Canada ramp crew, where he discovered true camaraderie and a sense of fulfillment among his colleagues. Peter held dear the many adventures with his family, including trips to Disney World, Caribbean cruises, and Europe. Above all, Peter’s warm spirit and easy smile brought happiness to everyone he met, leaving behind cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
As per Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Denning’s of Strathroy, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 p.m. A luncheon will take place after the service in the Caradoc Room, catered by Denning’s.
