Peacefully surrounded by his family at University Hospital, London, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Gilda for 62 years. Loving father of Duarte (Helena), Tony (Amy), Carlos (Lori), Rui (Jody), and Kenny. Cherished Vavô of the late Moses, Christian, Katrina, Josh, Owen, Paige, Nicole, the late Brandon, and Dawson. Proud Bisavô of Willa and Herschel.

Joe was predeceased by his siblings, Agostinho, Alvarinho, and Gil. He will be lovingly remembered for his kind heart, gentle nature, and deep love of gardening, especially the beautiful flowers and vibrant colours he so carefully tended. His garden was a place of pride and peace, reflecting the patience and care he showed to those around him. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Denning’s Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe Street West, Strathroy. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 6, at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church. Interment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
