Obituary of Humberto Jose Arruda

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Joe Arruda.  He passed away surrounded by his family at London Health Sciences Centre – University Hospital on December 30, 2025, at the age of 71. Loving husband of Connie for 47 cherished years. Beloved and devoted father of Paula (Jason) Schattin, Sonya (Charlie) Curvelo and Kevin (Kim) Arruda. Proud Vavô to Ryan, Kayla, Jacob, Leah, Grayson, and Liam, who brought him immense joy. 

Predeceased by his parents, Antonio (1995) & Maria (2014) Arruda, his brother Arthur Arruda (2015), and his aunt Germana Costa (2013). 

Survived by his siblings Maria Aguiar, Tony Arruda, John (Fatima) Arruda, Carlos (Zita) Arruda, and Maria (Steve) Santos, and his sister-in-law Grace Arruda. 

Predeceased by his in-laws, Joao (1988) and Maria da Gloria (2020) Botelho. Survived by his brother-in-law Joao Botelho, and sisters-in-law Paula (Joao) Botelho, Natividade (Antonio) Aguiar, and Helena Botelho. 

Joe will be sadly missed and always remembered by his many nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada and Portugal. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4^th, 2026, from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 5^th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, Strathroy. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart Failure Clinic at St. Joseph’s Hospital of London.
