Obituary of Frank Shephard

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Shephard, aged 72, on December 9, 2025, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, surrounded by his loving family.

Frank will be missed by his loving companion Marla Stephenson. Cherished father of Mark Shephard (Kerry Kingdon) and Adam Shephard (Tricia). Special grandpa to Alyssa, Ashton, Kaylin, and Maci Williams, and grandpa to Benjamin and Madelyn Shephard.

Special father to Dan Stephenson (Brittany), Jeremy Stephenson (Diane), Kyle Stephenson, and Janelle Stephenson. Loving Papa to Logan and Emma, Jonah and Melaina, and Cohen, Easton, and Blake. Will be  missed by his Brother Ted Shephard (Susan).

Frank started working in construction and driving a Redi-Mix truck in his late teens and twenties. He moved on to work at Swift Feeds and then New Life Mills, delivering livestock feed until his mid-40s, when he decided to buy his own truck and hit the open road. Frank hauled various types of freight over the years, but mostly parts for Ford to and from different factories. After a decade on the road, Frank returned to where he started and finished his working years at EMC Ready Mix in Forest—a job he truly loved.

Frank was a talker and storyteller. He would stop and chat with anyone who would listen, make new friends along the way, or sit and laugh with those closest to him. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He adored his grandkids—goofing off, telling tall tales, watching them play sports, and simply being “Grandpa.” Frank had a deep passion for the open road, jumping on his Harley Davidson for adventures that lasted a day or sometimes weeks. He loved his motorcycles, exploring back roads, and discovering new places. Frank also had a special place in his heart for his cats and dog Chelsea.

Frank will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A special thank you to the staff at Bluewater Health Complex Continuing Care Unit for taking care of Frank—the team was more than healthcare workers; they were family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 10th at the Forest Legion from 1–5 pm. with Memorial tributes commencing at 3:00pm.
