Obituary of Anne Josephine Rublik
Surrounded by family, Anne Josephine Rublik, a resident of Strathroy, ON, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21 at the age of 85.
Loving mother of Romuald (Dorothy Woermke-Steven) of St. Thomas; Greg (Gill Black) of London; Natalie (Vern Gran) of Ailsa Craig; Mark of Seoul, Korea; Melanie (Mike Balasin) of Strathroy; Marlon (Lee-Ann Connelly) of London; Stephanie (Edward Ouellette) of Ailsa Craig. Predeceased by her cherished son Jeffery, parents Joseph and Apolonie Stipsky, and the father of her children, Stanley Rublik.
Dear grandmother of Michael, Rose, Julia, Derek, Turner, Austin, Cole, Owen, Logan, and Cameron. Cherished great-grandmother of Henry, Marleigh, Anastasia, Myles, and Avril.
Loving sister to Lillian Durco of Sarnia, ON, Helen Kozuch of Mount Laurel, New Jersey and Millie Geelen of Mississauga, ON. Cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Sister-in-law to Frank Durco, Walter Kozuch (predeceased), Frank Geelen (predeceased), Frances and Jerry Bucek, Lorne (predeceased) and Helen Zimmer, Edward Rublik and Vicky.
Anne was born January 17, 1940, in Chatham, ON to Apolonie and Joseph Stipsky. She grew up on the family farm with her three sisters, Lillian, Helen and Millie. Anne attended a one-room schoolhouse near Ridgetown, ON. At the young age of 17, Anne pursued studies at Metropolitan General Hospital School of Nursing in Windsor, ON. She spent much of her nursing career as a Registered Nurse at Wallaceburg Sydenham District Hospital and with the Victorian Order of Nurses, where she worked tirelessly and with dedication.
In her free time, Anne enjoyed reading, crocheting, tending to her gardens, cheering on her grandsons at their sporting events, and most of all - family time. Family gatherings were not complete without Czech cuisine and pastry, a game of charades, scrabble and playing cards.
The family will receive relatives and friends at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY (32 Metcalfe St. W., Strathroy, ON) on Sun., Oct. 26, from 2-4 pm. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at All Saints Parish (124 Front St. E, Strathroy, ON) on Mon., Oct. 27 at 11 am. Interment to follow at All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery (25748 Metcalfe St W, Strathroy). Reception to follow at All Saints Parish.
Donations may be made to Canadian Mental Health Association (21 Richmond St., Strathroy, ON) and the Palliative Care Unit at Strathroy-Middlesex General Hospital (395 Carrie St., Strathroy, ON).
