Obituary of Francina Christina Maria Minten

 

Francina “Cindy” Christina Maria Minten peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on September 11, 2025, at Strathmere Lodge , at the age of 84.

Beloved wife of the late Arnold Minten for 55 years. Loving mother of Marty Minten, Sandy (Rob) Ferguson, Teresa (Dennis) Blunt, Jenny (Mike) Esselment, the late Johnny Minten (1973), and Mary-Anne (Marty) Swan.

Cherished Oma of Natasha, Tanner, Karley, Allison, Kyle, Madison, Megan, Mackenzie, Derek, Marissa, Arnold, Owen, and Shane. Cherished great-Oma of Massey, Dutton, Rhys, Morgan, Lainey, Reid, Ivor, and Bodie.

Cindy is survived by her siblings: Nellie (late Martin) Mommersteeg, Joanne (Ed) Heessels, Ria (Harry) Vandyk, John (Joan) Bosch, Jerry (late Betty) Bosch, Corrie (late Andy) Lamers, and Ted and Fran (late Annie) Bosch. She was predeceased by her parents, Thed and Johanna Bosch; her parents-in-law, Martin and Arnolda Minten; and her brother, Bill (Mary) Bosch. Also the late Nettie and Harry Rops, and the late Martin Minten.

Cindy will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and her second family in Holland. She lived by example through her faith, loyalty, selflessness, dedication, and love for her family. Cindy loved farming with her husband, Arnold, for many years. She was the hospitality queen- you never entered her home and left hungry.

The family would like to thank all the amazing and caring staff at Strathmere Lodge for their love, care, and support over the past six years.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Denning’s of Watford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, Forest.
Interment to follow at Our Lady of Help Christians Cemetery, Watford.

A reception will follow at the East Lambton Community Centre of Watford.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital or the Canadian Mental Health Association.
