Obituary of Janet Grace McLellan
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Janet Grace McLellan, at the age of 68 — a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, and friend.
Janet is survived by her husband, Bruce; children, Gary (Jena) and Grant (Keri); grandchildren, Lilly (Carter), Deagen, Isabella, Jake, Josie, and Benjamin; siblings Linda (Ralph), Joan (Larry), and Steve (Bonnie); sister-in-law, Shirley (Ron); as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends and loved ones. She was predeceased by her parents, Blair and Marilyn Hannah, and her parents-in-law, Harvey and Lilian McLellan.
Janet was known for her strength, tenacity, and boundless love for her family, pets, and everything horses. Her life was filled with laughter, compassion for animals, and a deep commitment to her loved ones. As a wife and mother, Janet devoted herself to her husband, sons, and the family’s farm. She taught them resilience, fearlessness, and the value of staying true to oneself. Her love for her grandchildren was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment with them. Whether in the saddle, on the baseball diamond, or at the hockey arena, they always knew when Grandma was in the stands. Janet’s legacy of love and strength will live on through those fortunate enough to have known and loved her. She lived with purpose, and in her final days, she showed us all the true meaning of courage.
A small service for immediate family will be held at the homestead. The family extends its sincere gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Strathroy General Hospital and LHSC, Victoria Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
