Obituary of Marie Jean Bax

Marie Jean Bax passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at Sprucedale Care Centre. Marie was the beloved wife of Frank Bax for 34 wonderful years.

She was a devoted mother to Ralph (Kate) Eckert, Mike (Susan) Eckert, Wayne (Karen) Eckert, and Dave (Donna) Eckert.
Her legacy lives on through her 8 cherished grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Marie was a dear sister to Margaret (Bill) Holmes, and was predeceased by her brothers Russ (Shirley) Clark and Norm (Millie) Clark. She was also a loving sister-in-law to Casey Bax, Adrianna (the late Steve) Soetemans, John (Paula) Bax, Pete Bax, Jean Bergey (the late Lyle), and Louis (Annie) Bax, and was predeceased by Tony (Marilyn) Bax and Joe Bax.

Marie will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friendss.

Her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor touched the lives of all who knew her.

A dedicated cook for many years at a local nursing home, Marie found joy in caring for others. She had a passion for knitting, and her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A visitation will take place on Sunday, July 6th, 2025 from 1pm-4pm at Denning’s of Strathroy at 32 Metcalfe St. W., Strathroy, ON.

A luncheon will be held at Dennings of Strathroy on Monday, July 7th, 2025 from 11:30am to 1:30pm, followed by a Funeral Mass at 2pm at All Saints Catholic Church, with an interment at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Marie’s memory to Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, VON Strathroy, or the Ailsa Craig Foodbank.
