I learned yesterday of the passing of my friend and co-worker Bill,
Bill was my assistant at the LCBO store in Bayfield On. and we worked together for 3 years before my retirement .
It was a joy to work together as we had so much in common, and Bill being 4 years older than myself was like having an older brother. Hard to believe but we never had an argument and truly looked forward to the everyday challenges.
During that time we discovered our mutual love of 1960’s music. British Invasion Rock in particular, and the whole counterculture movement was so much a part of our conversations.
We also learned that both of our girlfriends and later wives, had similar names, Carol and Carolyn , and that we had married around the same time, and now both married 50 years .
But by strange coincidence, we both attended a Three Dog Night concert at Cobo Hall Arena in Detroit, the same night in 1972 with our now life partners .
I will miss Bill, he was a true friend.
Our heartfelt condolences to you Carolyn and your family, we wish you peace.

I'm sure going to miss seeing my dad everyday. He was a good guy to be around. It didn't take much to make him happy, a book in his hand to read with music playing in the background and he was good-to-go. He leaves countless memories with all that music in the background as the soundtrack. He passed on that great love of music to me, as well as his love of sports. I'll always remember playing soccer, baseball, football and basketball here at home with him. I'd hate it in the fall when the clocks went back because it would rob us of the daylight needed to throw the football around when he got home from work after 6pm. He was very proud of his 25+ years working for the LCBO in Parkhill, Thedford, Grand Bend, and Bayfield. He loved Christmas almost as much as me I think, as he'd say: "Never had a bad one" and of course he loved Christmas music. I'm grateful to have known him and I'm very proud to call him my dad.

Bill was my roommate during my first year at university. We went to the Simon and Garfunkel concert and many more during that year. We also went to the Montreal Expo that year. We slept in a gas station parking lot and visited the site during the day.
Bill played on our Basketball team in grade 13 and had the best jump shot I had ever seen. Even the winning coach at WOSSA said that he was exceptional. Over the years, I have never seen a better jump shot than Bill's. He was the first person I heard speak glowingly of the Beach Boys' album, "Pet Sounds." Rest in peace Bill.

This may be you Ian?: my dad spoke of a college roommate who was into Bob Dylan when they lived together, dad said he couldn't get into Dylan then, if that roommate was you just know I did get him into Bob about 20yrs ago and in Nov. 2006 we saw Foo Fighters open for him at the ACC in Toronto, he would mention wondering what the roommate would think about that, all those years later, him finally getting into that music.

My Sincere Condolences, Carolyn, Jason, Jana, Justin, and Ava.
I only met Bill once when my cousin Ken and I visited to talk with Jason regarding genealogy.
Bill wasn't feeling that great, but he put up with our visit (invasion) with a smile. This was also the only time I met Carolyn
and Jason - it was clear the concern and high regard they held for one another.
