Obituary of Lloyd Bruce Kettlewell
Peacefully into the arms of Jesus, Lloyd Bruce Kettlewell passed away in his 94th year at Middlesex Terrace on March 2, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Bell Kettlewell for 52 wonderful years. Lloyd was the proud father of David & Deanna Kettlewell and loving grampa of Ian & Claire Kettlewell, Jill & Aaron Verheyen, and Dan Kettlewell. Lloyd adored spending time with his great grandchildren, Ellie and Jack.
Lloyd is survived by his siblings Evelyn (the late Don) Theaker, Roy (the late Marilyn) Kettlewell, and Larry & Mary Ann Kettlewell. He loved and was loved by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and will be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Lloyd was a loyal, honest, and hardworking family man who loved life on his dairy farm. He gained status as a Master Breeder of his dairy herd in 1991. He was a long-time member of the North Ekfrid Community Church where he served in many capacities. After retirement in the early 2000s, Lloyd was free to travel with his family where he was able to see the Canadian East Coast, Arizona, and cruise in the Caribbean. Lloyd looked forward to church with the family followed by lunch, games, and visits which became a Sunday tradition. Lloyd loved playing cards, especially euchre with his friends and family. He loved sitting on the porch with his dog, Star, who accompanied him on adventures everywhere.
Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Friday March 7th, 2025, from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held the following day at the funeral home on Saturday March 8th, 2025 at 11:00am. A reception will follow. A private family interment will take place at Appin Cemetery.
In memory of Lloyd, donations may be made on behalf of his son’s journey with dementia to the Alzheimer’s Society or Bethel Baptist Church in Strathroy.
