Obituary of Steve Hale

Peacefully, on May 13, 2022, Steven John Hale, in his 60th year, moved on to a better place.

Sadly missed by his wife of 35 years, Jo-Ann, his children Jaime (Scott), Jason (Christina), Kari (Chad), and Shannon; his 12 grandchildren, Max, Gracie, Lane, Brody, Taylor, Kyle, Justin, Jordan, Josh, Kaleb, Sarah and Kristen. Although Steve passed before meeting his 13th grandchild, his daughter finds comfort knowing their souls will cross paths in heaven. Steve will be dearly missed by his 3 great-grandchildren, Isaac, Spencer and Owen, and also by his two dogs, Bandit and Missy. Steve is predeceased by his parents, and is survived by his two brothers and one sister. 

While deeply grieving, we remember with gratitude the happiness and good times we all had throughout his life. Steve’s time spent on earth was highlighted by his hard work, kindness, generosity, love and friendship. Steve had a wild side, and he had amazing grace. Steve took on many roles in life, but he took the utmost pride and joy in being a father and Grandpa.

Steve graduated from Fanshawe college, and in his spare time he loved watching his grandchildren’s activities, fishing, boating, spending time in the fields on the farm, playing many board games with his friends and family, and always had a few projects on the go. It brought Steve joy to lend a helping hand to his neighbours, and will be missed throughout the West Elgin community. 

The family held a private celebration of life at Steve’s request and asks that any donations made in Steve’s honour go toward a charity of your choosing.
